How to Know Someone is Lying?

Being able to know someone is lying to you will greatly help your life get better. Just imagine for a moment ...

- Do you have an uncomfortable feeling if you can not immediately know that someone is telling a lie to you?
- Do you live a life where you communicate with many people and often you have a feeling that someone is lying to you but you can not identify who?

Actually the answer is simple. Look at the movements of the other person, look at his eyes and smile. Why? Because ... .. body language can not lie.

I'm sure we've all had an experience where we listen to someone telling stories and even though the words sound reasonable and real, but there is something that tells us that this person does not seem to tell a truth. This 'something' is actually a message from the brain that wants to protect us. Our brains have an amazing ability to read quickly everything we see and describe signs / signals. The more often we train our brains to analyze things, the faster and accurately our brain's ability.

There are 2 ways people interact with each other: words and body language. Sometimes one of these two ways dominates the other, but usually they act together. In short the way it works is as follows: After the brain analyzes the words and body language of the other person, the brain sends a message to us, which will make us react positively or negatively like suspicion, confidence or doubt.

When these two ways, words and body language show a synchronization, it means that we and the other person succeed to get an effective communication and the information conveyed is a truthfulness. But what if there is a contradiction between the words spoken the way we say them? I've read that there are more than 1 million body language. So we are here talking about the signals / signals are enormous. But again as I have said above, the more we analyze this body language, the more clever we also mean whether the other person is talking lies or honesty. Sometimes we have to combine 2 to 3 body language to get an accurate conclusion.

Before we talk further how to know someone is lying or not, it's good you know first 4 types of liar:

1. Occasional Liars

We all must have lied during our lives. Occasional liars do not usually lie, just for some reason they do it, perhaps because they want to protect themselves, their friends, their loved ones or somebody else. Keep in mind that behind every lie there is always fear. Fear to face a reality. Liars occasionally think about what he is going to say to make sense. But because they are not used to lying, their body language still shows many signs indicating that they are lying. So it is not too difficult to identify this type of liar.

2. Liars Over and over

Liars many times are people who lie 'regularly'. Unlike occasional liars, liars repeatedly do not have time to think about lies because they lie all their lives. But they actually realize that they are lying. These people are often stuck with actions they do that do not match what they say.

3. Natural Liars

Natural liars are people who lie continuously and often they do not realize they're lying. Their body language also looks very natural, because accustomed to lying. But when they are pressed with cornering questions, their body language shows a contradiction that identifies that they are hiding something. The natural liar type is a bit like a liar many times. Maybe you've heard the term 'pretentious', yes this is one example of a natural liar type.

4. Professional Liar

This type of liar lies for a particular purpose or deliberately wants to trick us. They learn all possibilities and know exactly what they want to say. They create scenarios, calculate the risk of failure and make backup plans. Though they are trained to use their body language, there is always something small that they miss. We can know these little things by often observing of course. One example Type liar like this is a salesman, sorry before I mean here is a salesman who is too much to promote a product when the product itself has a very low quality. Another example is corrupt politicians, they deliberately deceive the public for personal gain.
How can you know that someone is lying?
It does not have to be a psychologist to learn and know that someone is talking lies or honesty. An advanced psychologist can know exactly the patient is lying or not, like a psychologist who interviewed Princess Diana at the time. She stated that Princess Diana was telling the truth when she was interviewed about her husband's affair, Prince Charles.

You can analyze like that with a continuous practice of course. Psychologists can because they are accustomed to reading and analyzing people every day.

As mentioned above there are 1 million different body languages, I will summarize some common ones that indicate that someone is lying or not:

1. The position of the body can be evidence that indicates that a person is lying, because consciously or unconsciously there is a strong relationship between thought and expression.

2. A sudden breath. In every lie, the heart rate will increase and the breath will become shallow / fast. Usually a liar will take a deep breath to calm his feelings. This method is also applied by the lie detector machine, by measuring the heart rate of the person being interrogated / interviewed.

3. Anxiety in parts of the body. This can be seen in many ways, depending on the person. A nervous movement will attract our attention, especially when we talk to someone we know and that person is doing unusual moves. Here is an example of anxiety in parts of the body:

- Movement of the body back and forth, whether in a sitting or standing position.

- Position changed suddenly. For example, the other person is crossing one leg on the other, and when he starts answering our question, he changes his foot position. The person who lies, even if he is a professional, will feel the discomfort when he is lying. The body will always adjust our feelings without us knowing it, so this suddenly changing position is a good signal that indicates that someone is lying.

- Unconscious movements of the hands and feet. For example: shake legs, wiggle hands on the table, both hands glued tightly, both thighs pressed together together. If the other person is in a sitting position and then he changes the direction of the sole of the foot in the other direction, it is also a sign that the person is lying.

- A fake smile. A smile is synonymous with intimacy and trust, and liars often misuse it. So how to distinguish a liar smile? Liars will usually smile quite often and suddenly, which is not the place to be smiling.

- Too many acts of 'pretentious', such as: pats your back, touches you or closer to you. Your interlocutor will feel awkward when lying so that they will hide their clumsiness by doing these actions. It would be very difficult to decide that someone is lying if he does such friendly actions. This is a natural human response. But keep in mind, that if you feel that the intimacy of the other person is excessive, be careful.

One more, a very popular wise saying that "when a person lies will be obvious in his eyes," you may have heard it too. But for me this way is quite difficult compared to the above methods.

Dear readers, hopefully later when you are talking to someone, you can already analyze whether the person is lying to you or not. :)
